Same, Same. But Different.

Ko Samui is still Thailand but like all the places that we hae been in Thailand they are slightly different. The island has definitely been purpose built for the tourist – meaning that there are supermarkets stores and the prices are definitely more than Bangkok and Chaing Mai. But the island is a very nice temperature being low 30’s and so far has had a constant warm breeze, helping to cool us down a little.

Samui by Air
We arrived at Samui on air Bangkok at around mid day - if you ever need to travel in Thailand by air Bangkok air is the way to go, cheaper than Thai airways and has more service The airport is really nice, fully open air and you get transported from your plane to the baggage area by little golf cart style bus. The weather is amazing low 30’s. To be fair there is a lot going on at this stage on the island, a lot of places are being constructed and it looks a bit of a mess around here. But when you get to the hotel that we are staying at its heaven… its 5 Star and they mean it!
It over looks the north east beach which is very pleasant with not as many tourist as the main beach of Samui. And yay for the wireless broadband internet – But of course it comes at a cost. The hotel is very expensive. We can get a meal for both of us with drinks at the beach, for the cost of an orange juice at the resort! That’s fine though as tomorrow we get take to the shopping mall complimentary as part of the time share. We also get a complimentary breakfast to start us off.
