It’s getting colder
Monday, September 05, 2005Before getting to Holland I had been unwell for the first time of the trip and felt in need of a good relax and that’s exactly what we got. Teis is lovely and has been an exceptional hostess for our time in Scheveningen. We left early around 8.30, catching a tram to the central station and from there catching a train to Amsterdam, from Amsterdam to Osnabruck and then Osnabruck to Hamburg, finally getting in at 4.30pm. We quickly found a hotel and made our way there. The room was clean and tidy but quite old – not the best not the worst and we rested for a bit and then made our way into the city. It’s a lovely city with nice parks and lakes, lots of runners were running around the smaller lake. We walked for about an hour to a spot that the tourist lady had said was really good and there was a show of lights. We got there an hour before it started and so we waited… For the first time in a very long time it started to get cold - and colder still. It was bloody freezing buy the time the show started, here we were, sitting in the middle with really good seats in our T-shirts and shorts surrounded by people snug in their blankets and warm clothing. The show however was really nice and lasted half an hour, getting us back at home around 10.30 in time for a good sleep before heading to Copenhagen in the morning..
