What an amazing city Brussels is, after you get out of the scary centraal station its stunnig with one of the best old city squares that I've seen yet! The train ride was longer than expected at three hours rather than the one and a half that we thought but it was very comfortable and gave me time to fully get into the book I am reading! We arrived a little after two thirty, and our first priority was to get tickets for the train ride to Paris tomorrow as we are booked for the Moulin Rouge. Unfortunately France has found a way to make every person reserve seats for the journey so even though we have paid for a 'unlimited' pass we still need to fork out for the reservation at eleven Euro each?! That's the French for you I guess, they are the only ones in the whole of Europe to insist on reservations. Anyway, this done we found Tourist information and booked a hotel for the night and started the hike to it. It really is a nice city. The old town is full of seafood resturants and old pubs. It was really hard to find somewhere to have dinner as Sarah and I really don't like seafood but we found a nice Belgian food house that had pasta and a few chicken dishes - it turned out to be fantastic! So here we are sitting in our fancy hotel, just had a bubble bath and getting ready to have a good nights kip before getting up nice and early to see the famous Manneken Pis (Pissing kid - or Peeing Boy, as Sarah is making me write!) & hopefully another Brewery...
